One EMS: Chief Johnson and Two Choices

Richard Johnson started with Wayne County EMS almost 30 years ago. Currently, he is the Chief of Wayne County EMS and Chief Wayne County Sheriff’s Search & Rescue Team. As Chief of Wayne County EMS, he manages services for the 30,000 plus residents of Wayne County, Georgia.


As the Chief of Search and Rescue, he coordinates efforts for all search and rescue missions in the county. He is a certified emergency response diver and international public safety diver. As a medic with the Sheriff’s Special Response Team, he ensures the team has advanced medical life support for missions.
